A neck tie is the most common form of tie. It is a common accessory in formal and semi-formal attire, often paired with a dress shirt and suit. The neck tie’s purpose is largely decorative, adding an element of style and formality to the outfit.
How to Tie a Neck Tie
Instructions:
Drape the tie around your neck with the wide end on the right side and the narrow end on the left. The wide end should hang about 12 inches lower than the narrow end.
Bring the wide end across the front of the narrow end, crossing it to the left.
Loop the wide end behind the narrow end and bring it around the front again, creating a full wrap around the narrow end.
Pull the wide end up through the loop around your neck from underneath.
Pass the wide end down through the loop in front.
Adjust the knot by holding the narrow end and sliding the knot upward. Center the knot and adjust for tightness.
